Tshirt Transformation

Here is how to transform an old tshirt.

Voici comment donner une nouvelle vie à un vieux tshirt troué.

 

I had an old tshirt in cotton jersey that had a hole in the back. I liked this tshirt a lot, so I thought of a way of concealing it in an elegant manner. I had the idea of overlaying a silk veil over the back,so I removed the first layer of grey fabric off the back, and I disassembled the tshirt using a seam ripper.

J'avais un vieux tshirt en jersey de coton qui avait un trou dans le dos. Comme j'aimais bien ce tshirt, j'ai pensé comment faire pour masquer ce trou, et l'idée m'est venue de recouvrir le dos d'un voile de soie. J'ai donc enlevé la première couche gris de coton du dos, et j'ai désassemblé le tshirt à l'aide d'un découd vite.

I covered the back of the tishirt with the silk veil (it had a fingerprint decoration), by fixing it with pins and then tacking. I assembled the tshirt by tacking using a different color this time, and then sewing with the sewing machine.

J'ai recouvert le dos du voile en soie (le voile a un motif d'empreintes), en le fixant avec des aiguilles ensuite en faisant un bâti avec des grands points. Le tshirt je l'ai rassemblé en utilisant toujours un bâti, mais avec un fil de couleur différente, avant de piquer à la machine à coudre. 

For the collar's finish, I folded the silk veil and then sew it. I also chose to add a piece of veil in the front, in order to lengthen the tshirt.

Pour la finition du col, il a suffi de replier le voile de soie et de piquer. J'ai choisi de rajouter du voile aussi devant, afin d'allonger le tshirt. 

An interesting variant would be to replace the back of the tshirt with a veil with more volume, that would float behind when walking.

Une variante intéressante serait de remplacer le dos d'un tshirt avec un voile avec plus de volume, qui flotterait derrière  quand on marche.
